morning. just. Been searching all over and cant find inter-connect that will take an optical out feed from a roku m1001 to usb in connection on my creative modx. I plug headphones into the modx.

Im mainly asking as i have read that the 3.mm jack in on the creative is not as good as the usb in. I appreciate that the creative modx is mainly built for laptop usb out.

Any light anyone can shed on this would be great. cheers, pixel

I have only seen 1 usb / optical feed system and this was from sony and is software driven. SONY PCLK-MN10 USB (I still have one in a box) it allowed you to pass a optical feed to minidisc via a computer. This was very limited.

Can you list all your inputs and then all your outputs that way I would be able to work out the best way for your equipment. I don't do model numbers that much. ;)

    hi pixelpixel.

The source (ROKU Soundbridge M1001) has the following outputs,
    1*Optical, 1* coaxial and 1* Analog 1/8" miniplug (3.5mm jack)

The output (creative xmod) has the following inputs,
    1*USB and 1* 3.5mm jack (stereo input)

another option of possibly a better signal from the sounbridge could be optical ou cable with 3.5mm jack converter. Like this here,

    http://www.play.com/Electronics/Ele...l-Audio-Cable-With-3-5mm-Jack-EU/Product.html

Or a more expensive idea would be to get a good headphone amp (or any amp) with optical or co-axial input, and a headphone out obviously.

But these are surprisingly hard to source as well! :D

    thanks,
