Hi, I have the option of Optical digital or Wired Digital from my DVD player to my amp. Which will be the best one to use?

By the term wired Digital you must be talking about Coaxial Cable, most people tend to use the Coaxial method as it is one less converison meaning when connecting an optical cable you have to have light changed back to an electrical signal.
Therefore a better sound is thru Coax.

John :)

better sound may be pushing it - but yeah it's one conversion less!

as a 'rule' for best sound quality (and not budget on cables) - use COAX (cheaper - betterish - more flexible) but use FIBRE if the devices are not close (why wouldn't they be!)

Agree with the above but why do you want to use a digital lead? Going this route will mean that the amp will be doing the D>A conversion with its own DACS. The chances are that the DACS in the CD player will be better for music and therefore you should use a pair of analogue phono leads.
If you are unsure which DACS are better then try both and see which way sounds best to you.

Mark.
