Sorry if this is in the wrong place but couldnt find better....

Which is better to connect AV audio optical or Co-ax.
Its only a short term question cause soon to get a Denon amp but my dvd has optical out & co-ax whilst the PS2 has optical out. the tv (i've no amp yet) has 1 optical and 1 co-ax.
Should I get a co-ax for the DVD or just be patient (who me?) and wait for the amp and use optical for both.

The general consensus of opinion is that co-axial is marginally better but I don't suppose that it really matters

the "other" general consensus of opinion is that there is no difference in quality between the two as it is a digital signal that is being carried.

The cientific evidence is that a good coaxial will produce less jitter (distortion), and that will matter for PCM (CDs) but not so much for DD or DTS, as they have more preocessing...

I have tried both from my 7700 to Yamaha A1. In my opinion there is a clear difference, go co-ax.
