    Hi All,

Is it just me (or am I stupid  ) who struggles with the number of optical inputs on amps. I've got a 3802 atm which has 3 optical inputs. Currently I have Xbox,PS2 and DVD player hooked into them. Now I will most likely be moving to plasma and will have the following to hook up.

DVD Player , PS2 , Xbox , Laser disc (I could shelve this but one sunny day I may use it), Sky+, PC (from soundblaster), maybe DVDR and of course in the future PS3, Xbox2, Blu-Ray etc...

So whats the best way round this problem (the only amp I found with a good number of inputs is the Z9 but it seems overkill for my smallish room with Kef Eggs  ) - I suppose I could save one by getting a new DVD player and amp and using I-Link.

Is it only me thats suffering???

Do you have any co-axial digital inputs you can use? The Xbox, PS2 and Sky+ are optical only IIRC, but most DVD players and the SoundBlaster cards can output an electrical digital via co-ax.

Another option is an optical digital switch eg this to create three inputs one connection to the amp. It's also a bit cheaper than a Z9 :D

My Yammie 1500 has lots of optical inputs...check out yammys webiste...and all major manufacturers should have good pics of the back of their amps on their site.
