    Hi

Just replaced DVD player with a Panasonic DVD recorder. It only outputs Optical as does my Sky+ box. The trouble is my Aego P5 amp only has one optical input.

It seems that I could get an optical switch or an Optical to Coaxial converter.

Any advice on the best option?

I have managed to connect the Optical connection to DVD and output the Sky audio as passthrough. The trouble it is out of sync with the picture. Might I be able to manage with just the one output as another option?

    Thanks

    Steve

If you have a spare coaxial socket, which your post suggests you do, then get an optical to coaxial converter from Maplins, or do a web search, about £15. This will enable your amp to do the switching and give you full DD when available on Sky+.

Optical switches are also available, again Google will help here, slightly cheaper but you will have to switch sources manually.
