Optical/Coaxial cable on 20m without amp?

help pls

friend found these in Switzerland:
1) Lindy - 25€
2) thomman.de -20€

we focused on optical... it should be better on long distance, right?

No, not really.

Personally I don't consider optical once you get beyond about 12m or so.

There is only a small LED as a light source on our equipment, this isn't like data and telcoms equipment.

You may get away with it, you may not.

Also consider that optical cable does not go around corners very well so it is sometimes a poor choice for long runs than may need to go around door frames etc.

would coax be any better on 20m then?

and if not can anyone advise me on normal priced way to get digital audio on 20m (with or without amp).

(and yea, it will go trough some sharp corners, 90° - behind closet, will barely fit)
