I need an optical cable to connect my new dvd player to my AV amp. It need to be at least 1.5 metres long. Where would be the cheapest place to get one?

There's a 2m cable with gold plated connections on e-bay at the moment for £9 including postage. Should I go for it?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

Not sure how they managed to gold plate an optical cable so I'd avoid that one!

I got mine from Homebase, £7.99 for 3m. They are cheap in B&Q if you have one nearer.

    ROFL. :D

Heh, I gotta agree with DaveP, Gold isn't renowned as a good conductor of light, what with it being opaque and all.

You can pick up an optical cable quite cheaply. I don't want to get into the old arguements about digital interconnects and bits being "only bits". But as it's doing such an important job I wouldn't buy a really cheap one if you can avoid it.
