First off, hi to everyone, I've been directed here from another forum, looks like a great site, maybe someone can offer some advice?

Saw this in Currys on a Blueray link and it looked amazing.

LG 37LH5000 37"1080p

80,000:1 contrast ratio
200hz
4 hdmi, 1 pc input
Twin xd engine

£650

I only want a 37" as thats the biggest that will fit in my lounge.

Opinions on LG lcds? Bearing in mind this is 200hz, and I dont want more than 37" can I get better for the money?

Cheers

The sony has better blackvalues but the colors on the LG are better.
If you watch tv in a room with a light on the LG gives a better picture.
I used a 42LH5000 for several weeks and liked it a lot.
MY sony 40Z5500, under normal viewing concitions meaning a light on, has less picturequality than the LG 42LH5000.

Cheers for the replies :)

I'm going back to the shop to see what its like on standard def compared to the other sets. It really looked amazing compared to everything else near it in the shop, but it would on HD....

Quite excited as I've been living in the dark ages AV wise up untill now. Blueray on the PS3 is an exciting prospect
