Operating noise of HD5

    I got the HD5 the other day.

    I noticed a clicking noise while, e.g. the player is reading the toc or while you switch tracks or albums.

    Since it's merely recognizable, it's really no big deal.

    I was just wondering if that's normal and if you guys owning an HD5 notice any operating noise as well.

    Yep mine does the same. but with cracks. :thumbsdow

    Sorry to hear about that. I specifically got the black one to avoid cracks. No signs of any so far.

    That noise is more than likely the sound of the hard drive spinning up in order to read more data, just normal operational noise unless it's really loud !

    Theres operational noise through the headphones when the power cable is plugged in, but none otherwise..
