I brought this on dvd the other day and for some reason the sound is really quiet when coming through my amp, whenever I put in any other dvd the sound is fine, has anyone else noticed this?

The sound level is very low on this R2 dvd and I think it has been discussed in these forums before.

Speaking personally, I normally listen to dvds at -20 to -15dB. The sound level at -10 is very loud. I had to turn Open Range up to -8 to get a reasonable volume. I therefore think it is the dvd not your equipment.

    I've got this.
I thought it seemed a little lower (volume) than some discs.
It's worth watching, especially for the gunfight at the end which has great sound effects - especially in DTS.

If you have your amp set to uncompressed the gunshots are really effective.
This movie is on the "movies to test your system" thread.

I wonder if the volume was deliberately set low to get you accustomed to this level so that when the shooting starts the effect is so much more startling.

It is a pretty subdued movie for the most part - not loud at all, but that's intentional.
