You don't seriously think that Mr. Luca$ cares in the slightest for trivialities such as 'fans' do you ?
Zactly. Georgie-boy lost whatever marbles he had left before AOTC was released. He doesn't care what the fans want. The only way he would release the original films the way they were meant to be is if everyone boycotted Ep. III and all subsequent DVD releases. And that's never going to happen, so I think the franchise is well and truly dead.
Ah well. I've signed. Not that it'll do any good (optimist me!)
Im not all that bothered really but ill sign
I did not mind some of the extra bits which made the film longer in the updated version but the redoing of the all ready there scenes like the explosions looked worse than the original. I also liked some of the gaffs, and the bit where the storm trooper banged his head; well there was no reason to cut that.
I also hated the new ending in Return of the Jedi.
Signed. Thanks Confucius.
I am optimistic that he might be willing to change his position, especially when you consider that fact that most fans will probably buy both versions (that is a LOT of money to say no to! - Perhaps we ought to petition 20thC Fox as well).
Just get the laserdic - > DVD versions available *now* and George won't get any (more) of your money.
I hope you are not suggesting that people buy Pirate copies Flimber!
Of course not, I meant buy a LD player, copy the discs to your PC and burn a DVD. That'd be 'fair use' wouldn't it ? I just worded my post badly
Phew! Thank goodness for that!
Is it me or is Lucas one miserable SOB, every time I see him or he's being interviewed you'd think he was just told he's dying, *** man you're very wealthy and you're a success smile a little and give the fans what they want you fat piece of faeces
Well they did say when they got their release on VHS that they would never be released in the original format again. I for one do not mind. I just want the to get a release date. Along with Indiana Jones.
Well I'd love 'Jedi' on DVD - all those cute cuddly little teddy bears wobbling around the screen and ruining what should have been the triumphant culmination of the original trilogy
LucasFilm presents ...
In anamorphic widescreen and DTS ... Luke Skywalker, Darth Vader, Rupert, Winnie, Barnaby, Paddington, Yogi, BooBoo and the whole freaking Care Bear Clan.
Oh sod it - I've added my name to the list
Separate names with a comma.
