Bought my PS3 primarily as a bluray player, but couldn`t resist GT5. Problem is the online connectivity is awful. Is it just me/my setup or is it fairly intermittent generally. I don`t have any other games to compare it with , but connection to the playstation store always seems to be ok (if painfully slow
)
In GT5 I usually get disconnected within about 5-10 mins of starting, I can then generally reconnect but always get the message (date and time incorrect) and from then the clock shows an hour behind (the PS3 system time is correct btw ). Sometimes I get online games fine, othertimes I get "connection couldn`t be established" or a variety of connection errors.
It seems that if I get the weather function in the top left of the homescreen everything will work fine, if I don`t get the temp or pictures of the weather I know I`ll have problems.
I also had to go to wired connection to get the update (along with many others I believe) which makes me think the online connectivity of this game is flawed, rather than my router (Netgear DG834N with latest firmware - which manages to work fine with XBox Live, Computer, Wii and satellite linux receiver ethernet connection - all wireless)
On a brighter note- changed the default controller setup so the accelerator and brake are now on the shoulder trigger buttons and it`s like a different game
