ONKYO TXSR505E no center speaker question

Can anyone confirm whether you can set the front left and right speakers to share the center channel? It is not practical for me to use a center speaker, I'm sure you can, just wanted to check before I take the plunge.

Thanks

I don't have my manual with me, but on my 805 I am sure there is a sound option to accomodate this request. I think it is Theatre Dimensional. (See description from Onkyo website below)

Theater Dimensional - You can experience the excitement of surround sound from as few as two ordinary speakers.

Onkyo's exclusive Theater-Dimensional circuitry takes the complexity out of conventional surround-sound setups and lets you experience the excitement of surround sound from as few as two ordinary speakers. Want more? Theater-Dimensional's unique multi-speaker modes let you place up to five speakers conveniently by the TV, for the most realistic virtual-surround sound possible.

Thanks for the replies, I think that quote is referring to a virtual speaker function, but could (and am normaly) wrong:suicide: My query is whether the front L/R speakers can split the center channel between themselves, so I can hear dialogue. I haven't got room in my study for a center speaker as the monitor sits in it's place.

My old trusted YAMAHA 750SE I am using at the moment splits the sound perfectly.

:lease:
