Onkyo tx-sr606 and Sony Bravia LDL-32s2530

Hi hoping someone can solve a problem that's puzzling me.

I have an HDMI out of the receiver into the above TV but the resolution only ever shows 720p when the TV is able to show 1080i also.

Is there a setting on the TV, AV receiver or both that I need to tweak to achieve this?

I play HD trailers from Apple TV (via the game slot on the receiver) Nd would have thought it would force 1080i but as a bit of a technophobe I may be way off the mark.

Any advice or clarification would be gratefully received.

I've switched the HDMI as per the manual and tried Through, Auto and 1080i but the info displayed on he Bravia screen shows 720p.

Could it be the tv that is restricting it?

Could be, have you tried powering on tv after onkyo is on, to make sure it syncs properly.

My Sony always has issues syncing up, but gets there in the end, none of the other Tvs ever seem to have an issue

Yes I've tried this and looking at the TV settings but can't see anything obvious.

Anyone any further advice?
