Can someone help me with a problem I'm having with my new Onkyo receiver? I have discovered on the Onkyo website that there is a firmware update available, via USB only.

I've downloaded the files to a USB stick, but when I go to the Firmware update in the OSD, the options to update via NET or USB are both greyed out. Also when I click on the firmware verison, it says unable to check for firmware update!

My network is connected to the receiver at 99% strength, so that's not the problem, does anyone know what it could be?

I have just been onto onkyo's website have you followed this ?

Note: Please remove the wired/wireless connection before updating through USB.
Please prepare a USB storage device such as a USB flash memory stick. You need at least 64 MB of available space to update the firmware. Please unpack the ZIP file onto an empty USB Stick which has been formatted with the FAT file system.
We hope you enjoy the improved functionality this update provides to your AV Receiver.

Hey guys, it is a USB only update. Make sure you disable all internet conections (wifi+wired) in the network settings, then attempt the USB update. Worked for me! :)

Thanks, it was a relief! I'm enjoying the sound of this receiver immensely, and didn't want anything to be wrong with it! It's way better than my previous Sony DN-840.

Hi All It says the firmware update take 30 to 40 minutes ?? that's a long time considering it's local image on a usb. Is that how it really takes?
