I have a client who is hard of hearing and recently acquired an Oticon ConnectLine TV 3.0 so they can listen to their TV audio over bluetooth to their hearing aids. They would like it set up to work with their surround zone which is set up like this:
Video - Sources (AppleTV + DirecTV) > HDMI to Onkyo TX-NR646 > HDMI to tx balun > Cat-5 to rx balun > HDMI to Samsung Display
Audio - Sources (AppleTV + DirecTV) > HDMI to Onkyo TX-NR646 > Speaker Outs to Speakers
What would be the best way to set up this Oticon device? It has an optical input and stereo input. Can I use Zone 2 Out from the Onkyo? The research I've done seems to suggest the Zone 2 Out wont do HDMI audio on that Onkyo model, so they wouldn't be able to hear their source audio. Should I have them upgrade to a TX-NR1030?
