Making good on a promise, Onkyo have just told us that the three more AV receivers/packages and a network stereo receiver have also now been Spotify-enabled thanks to new firmware.

Owners of the TX-NR509 AV receiver, HT-S6405 AV receiver/speaker package and the TX-8050 network stereo receiver can now download the firmware update from Onkyo | Europe - Home - United Kingdom that enables onboard access to Spotify as well as allowing direct support for Spotify Premium via Onkyo’s Remote App for Android.

‘Existing owners of our newly Spotify-enabled products will be pleased to now have access to the leading music service, something we've been working towards for several months,' says Nick Hamada, Onkyo Europe’s product and marketing manager.

Onkyo became the first AV receiver maker to offer Spotify access via its AV receivers early in 2011 and they tell us they're the 'only brand in the world to offer such a capability.

All you need to enjoy Spotify on Onkyo is an internet connection and a Spotify Premium account to gain access to more songs than you can shake a stick at (10's of millions) with more than 99% of the tracks available at 320kbps bitrate as well as the Ogg Vorbis codec.

A world of music - Spotify
