I am buying a receiver and speakers for my mother and need help with the decision. I am looking at either an Onkyo Onkyo HTS5400 that come with speaker or Sony STR-DH810 and will be adding the same speakers. The price end up about the same. You can get more information on the Onkyo set up on Vanns web site and the Sony on Walmarts site. I am including some details below and help or suggestions are appreciated. From the research I have done the Onkyo receiver is 3D and the Sony does not come 3D but with a firmware upgrade will work with 3D. 3D is not mandatory. Thank you.
