Onkyo recognising Dolby Digital sound sometimes only

Hi All,

I have a minor issue which someone might be able to resolve!

I have a Humax Freesat box hooked up to my Onkyo receiver. When I am watching Doctor Who on BBC1HD, the Onkyo automatically picks up the DD audio (the default setting for the Humax is "All Channel Stereo).

However, when I watch Casualty, also on BBC1HD, the audio remains on "All Channel Stereo", despite it also being broadcast with DD audio.

Any ideas why this would be and how I can resolve it?

As an aside, just got the Onkyo back after the "no sound" repair and now when I toggle HDMI inputs on the remote between the TV and Humax (CBL/SAT), it doesn't automatically switch the video input - I have to use the TV remote and select HDMI1 to switch to the Humax. Before the repair, as soon as I changed the input via the Onkyo remote, it switched. How can I fix this also?

Many thanks!

I don't know about your first issue, but I would say that 'All Channel Stereo' is not a mode I would --ever- use for TV or movies. It's just a way to get all your speakers banging out some sound if you're having a house party...

Your second problem - it sounds like you have CEC disabled.
