Hi there.
am looking at 2 packages which appear very similar, but wanted to know which would be the best amp to go for.
the choise of speakers is the Q Acoustics Q7000 5.1 (for starters) but the choice of amps is:
Onkyo TXNR616 or
Yamaha V673

any thoughts on which one would go best?
Wifi streaming would be important as well as ease of use/setup.

Attached i would have SKY HD, PS3 ,Wii and DLNA HDD (music and films)
thanks for your input

At that price point, most amps are more or less the same. Some will be better at certain things but worse at certain thing. So they are more or less on level ground.

You need to find a store and demo and check the features lists to see if either of them has something that you prefer to have. Otherwise it's really a toss up.

Hello,

Not really a pro but what about just one step further on both parts?
- yamaha rx-v673 Vs onkyo 616 --> yamaha 773 Vs. onkyo 717
(or maybe yamaha 771 Vs. onkyo 709....if you found them)
- Qacoustics Q7000 --> Qacoustics 2000/2000i
(maybe get the 5.0 but get a better sub)

Good luck

i wish i could stretch to that, but budget is topped out at the moment. Plus due to living outside in the UK currently finding Q Acoutics is proving to be very expensive.

I see.....but the5.1 2000/2000i are cheaper than de 7000 (in the same store).

What other options you have available "near" you?

I would buy the onkyo for audyssey. Ive had a couple yammy amps over the years and wasnt impressed with them.
