Hello everybody, I'm about to buy a new DVD player to match my good (?) old Onkyo TX-DS595 AV receiver. I looked at the Onkyo website, but I cannot understand the difference between the two models in the title.

Also, does anybody know those models? Are they any decent?

And last, in the tech specs I saw "Progressive Scan" for those two models and "PAL/NTSC Progressive scan" for the "502" and "503" models. Does this mean anything different?

    Thank you very much,
    Gianluca.

i might be wrong but isn't the 503 just an update of the 502?

Some DVD players only support Progressive scan for NTSC.
If you use PAL discs, make sure you buy one that explicitely states PAL progressive scan if you want to use that feature
