    Hello,

I'd like to give an Onkyo 818 a go, mainly for its xt32 capabilities.

Obviously quite a known problem with the HDMI failing so I would like one that's either still in warranty with Onkyo/retailer or had the board replaced by Onkyo with some sort of documentation to show its been completed.

Would like one in black with all accessories and preferably original box. I'd rather collect if not too far from Birmingham.

Not in no major rush and would rather find the right one please.

    Many thanks

    Location: Birmingham

I think Onkyo are offering a 7 or 10 year warranty on the HDMI boards?

Had mine replaced when the amp was 4 years old.

    Onkyo | Customer Service Program

Here's the Onkyo release, the board is covered till 31/12/2018 so you can buy a used 818 or other effected Onkyo avr's even when out of original warranty and if the board fails it is covered for another 32 months from now.

Hardly rare, things just seem to come up for sale in bunches around here at the moment.

Anyway mine could be up for grabs if you fancy it?
Bought in January off of here, the previous owner had just received it back after being sorted by Onkyo for the HDMI board (paperwork included). For Sale - Onkyo TX-NR818 AV Receiver

Asking same as I paid for it, so £250 collected
    Location: Nr Newbury in Berkshire.

Let me know if of interest.;)
    Cheers Paul.

    @Paul Smith

    Thanks for the reply.

Is it in exactly the same condition as you bought it (mint) and does it still have original box?

    Thanks
    Mark

Yeah it's all still just as I purchased it.
I should add the original sale thread didn't mention the user manual was absent (the English version).
But all the rest is there, original box, polystyrene inserts, remote, mic, I forget what else.

No worries I can get that online, I think.

Would you consider shipping or be around in the day for me to arrange a courier to collect if you have the original box etc??

I could collect but it's a bit of a drive and struggling with time at the moment so for the sake of £15 a courier would be a little easier for me.

    Thanks

    Hi,
If you want to take the responsibility of shipping/courier transport then that's fine.
I can usually arrange for someone to be around for pickup most days, I think only Wednesday is a no go this week, so far.

Shall we go to pm to arrange payment and collection details?

    @Paul Smith

I will offer £240 by bank transfer and sort my own courier and take responsibility aslong as you can guarantee to package it securely in its original box.

I don't think £10 is too bad for 3 months usage.

If you're happy with that let me know mate and we can proceed via PM.

    Thanks
    Mark

Thanks for the offer, but I'm going to decline.
I'm not desperate to sell and feel I priced it appropriately.
Actually thinking about it more, it probably makes sense if I don't sell after all and keep hold of it instead.
So withdrawing the 818 from sale.

All the best with your search.
