Hi, firstly I'm sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but I can't seem to find anything.
I have a PS3 (Fat) and an Onkyo 607. Tomorrow the parts for a HTPC that I'll be building will arrive. Tonight I decided to test using my PS3 effectively what I'll be using on my HTPC - and that is to have Video via HDMI and audio via a TOSLINK Optical Cable.
I've set the PS3 to use HDMI video and Optical Audio. I've had to then assign the OPT1 port to DVD/BD (which is what my PS3 is hooked up as).
I can't get audio at all when the video is output as HDMI, but when I swap the HDMI cable for a Component cable I suddenly get the optical audio coming through.
Is the Onkyo capable of having an HDMI video source and realise there is no audio with it then search for the next input source (optical)?
The PS3 is fully patched up and everything works fine if both audio and video are via HDMI. I've also tried both Optical ports on the Onkyo.
I'm getting worried that tomorrow I'll have the same problem with the HTPC.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!!
