Sorry Im trying to get this setup quickly for major film night.
Ive been using 5.1 since getting my reciever last week. Today 2 more speakers arrived so now Ive got full 7.1. Ive tested it on PCM for PS3 and LOTR DTSES track and its all ok and setup right for a true 7.1/6.1 source.
Now my question is what setting do I use for 5.1 tracks? Do I leave it as DD5.1/DTS or do I matrix it to Dolby EX to incorporate the full back channel? Ive been trying to work out for myself but Ive not got the back two on the wall yet for the extra 2 (their on the floor till my dad gets home) and Im abit worried that the matrix effect will mess up proper 5.1. Ive tested Saving Private Ryan DTS in both DTS and EX and seems similar on both with 5.1 and 7.1 so Im unsure (I cant say Ive done that much testing though).
So basically do I use 5.1 and only use EX for proper source or is it ok to matrix it to EX and it will split the channels right for back 4?
Also what about the 2channel sources do I use DPLogic IIX I take it?
