    Hi,

I am new there, so please excuse for possibly stupid question :)
I have signal source, say, CD player with stereo RCA output connection.
How can I connect two power amps to this one output ?

The idea is to listen side by side two different amp/speaker setups with one source... so I need to share signal from CD to both amps.

    Thanks!

Hi there and welcome to the forums,
There are a couple of possibilities to this,
1/ if one of the amps has a dedicated line level output then you may well be able to wire the CD player into that one and then using a pair of phonos, send the signal out to the other amp.
2/ use the tape monitor outputs on one of the amps (if either has them fitted) to the other.

Have never tried either of these methods but they "should" work. The one thing I will say though, the sound may be degraded or influenced by whichever amp the source is played into first so it would be better to wire the source into the first amp / speaker combo, then using the same source / interconnects, wire it into the second.

    Apart from that, dunno ?

    Graham.

    Thanks, mechanic.

I wonder, maybe I can just solder double wire and connect both amps to same source in parallel ?

(the same way we would do connecting two speakers to one amp.)

    Hello Darznieks

I'll not ask why you need to listen to two systems side by side but keep in mind if its CD Line Out >Power Amp line In you will need to have a Volume control somewhere in the system or risk blowing your Loudspeakers.

If you simply 'split' the Line Out from the CD you will only be delivering half the voltage to each Power Amp - you really ought to be using a Buffered 1x2 Splitter - see http://www.js-technology.com/produc...id=50&osCsid=3a35fea99bc3ebcbb9dc010780f84dab
