If you buy a product that is not made for the british market, and then have a problem with it, you may find that because it is not british, you may not get the back up you require or the support you need.

In terms of the use of the suffix 'BX' for example many retailers do not include this on product lists although the stock is sourced from Panasonic UK or distributors. The main model number is for example Panasonic TH-42PWD6 and the suffix is then stamped onto each box to denote the country it was destined for i.e Britain and the X merely shows it X-cludes a terminal board so these need to be sourced from the retailer at the time of sale.

The Panasonic warranty for stock that is not brought into this country via Panasonic UK and its authorised dealers/ distributors reverts to return to base as oppose to on-site loan replacement.

    Hope this answers your question

    Regards

    Hello Tam

The biggest hassle you will face if you go with non UK stock is not so much about having an 'On site' or 'Return to Base' warranty and more about a lack of support/interface between the dealer your buying from and Panasonic UK.

Panasonic UK (Business Systems and Consumer) supply to Direct Accounts and via Distributors - the Distributors then in turn supply many smaller Resellers and as part of the deal offer the Reseller the interface into Panasonic Service in the UK.

There are also unofficial Distributors in the UK who are sourcing and supplying stock from Europe to UK resellers - neither the reseller nor the Distributors of the Euro stock have any contact with Panasonic UK so your on your own when it comes to sorting out warranty claims; which is not the easiest task in the world with Panasonic UK at the best of times.

    Best regards

    Joe

PS Its also worth noting that specs on a 'similar' Euro and UK model may not be exactly the same!
