Can’t say I have any of them CD either the nearest I have is Derek and the Dominoes – Layla on a CD which I think is a classic but not the one he mentions.

I've got 17 of them and I wouldn't part with any of them.

This is clearly a man just seeking to attract attention to his otherwise boring website.

Although I did agree with one of his recommendations:

Did you hear that Karkus? ;) :p

idiotic... I trim my CD collection more than most (i probably own no more than 150 now) but 95per cent of these suggestions are just plain stupid. Although he's got a point about Wu Tang Clan's W... don't even think I got through the whole thing once!

This is mostly rubbish, but I have to say although I think Nevermind is a great album, I always thought that Nirvana couldn't hold a candle to the Pixies.....

    Quote-
    Nirvana - Nevermind
Yeah, yeah - I realize that this is the one that broke grunge's doors wide open and made Seattle a place to be reckoned with. Are we sure that's good? At best, Nevermind is an overrated Pixies tribute album that was blasted from every goddamn dorm room I skulked past in college (instead of the Pixies). Not to mention the fact that alt-rawk stations have bled this album of any magic it might have had by overplaying it. Fair to middling at best, but not the Second Coming. And "Smells Like Teen Spirit" IS the "Stairway to Heaven" of our generation, folks. This is the record you will embarrass your children with.

But hey! Surely we all agree about Celine Dion :) ?

I've got nine of those albums. I think he's just being controversial by suggesting that some of the all time classics are removed.

Albums I own off that list:

    Nirvana - Nevermind
Captain Beefheart - Trout Mask Replica
    Oasis - Morning Glory
    Beck - Midnight Vultures
Chemical Brothers - Dig your own hole
    Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie
Pink Floyd - Dark side of the moon
    The Cult - Electric
    REM - Out of Time

Wouldn't get rid of any of them!

Hmmmmmm, we all know she is horseplops of the highest disorder but back in the days when I was a serious clubber (mid 90s) & collector of David Morales remixes, I heard a tune one night on Pete Tong, “Love can move mountains”, instantly loved it David Morales at his best, a great house remix of a Celine number, this is the only thing I own of the woman, interestingly he also did a remix of Mariah Carey that I own as well on CD single, “Dream Lover”. Did I mention I got the Pop Idol big band CD as a present and found it not bad.

I will get my coat !!

And yes the dude is a dipstick, I own a fair few of those discs and love every one. Including Nirvana.

just gone through the list and am the proud owner of 11 of them:

    nirvana nevermind
    oasis whats the story
    public enemy apocalypse `91
    beck midnite vultures
    rhcp blood sugar sex magic
macy gray on how life is
    no doubt tragic kingdom
    green day dookie
    inxs listen like thieves
prodigy music for the jilted generation
alicia keys songs in a minor

i wouldnt part with any of them, and would class a couple of them as some of my favourite albums.
the author seemed to be pre-occupied with listing music that is mixing different styles, and points this out on more than one occasion as a negative, where i see it as a positive if done well. glad to see a couple of rem albums on the list though :D

I have these ten out of the hundred.........

    Nirvana - Nevermind
    Led Zeppelin - Physical graffiti
Nine inch nails - Pretty hate machine
White Stripes - White blood cells
    Jane's addiction - nothing's shocking
Smashing pumpkins - Mellon collie and the infinite sadness
The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's lonely heart's club band
    REM - Out of time
The Presidents of the USA - self titled
    Madonna - The immaculate collection

..........and I would never want to get rid of them.
I might not have listened to most of them for a while but I will again eventually, which is the exciting thing about having some older cds hanging around.

    The Mascara snake................

Steve, if you think this sounds good on a higher plane, try Underworld 100daysoff. For the last few weeks Ive been wondering why the hell I bought this album, then suddenly it all clicked into place, no wonder they are so popular on the dance scene.:D :D :D

His list is absolute & utter nonsense - he doesn't have an intelligent argument to back up any of his suggestions. He is just trying to be controversial

His case against U2 (for example): they are rich and religious! Oh yes, what a great reason for throwing away their album - I mean rich rock stars, who has heard of such a thing?! (sarcasm)

    Idiot! :p

Rant over, feel better now. :) :)

Freakishly I have only purchased two from the list and these were both stolen from my car a while back. Obviously this guy has friends in the 'ahem' trade who go around taking these away from people.

I think the guy is totally right about the list, no music is beyond criticism, but like most of the good things in life its about what they mean to each individual. I still listen to Close to the Edge by Yes, never mind the other albums I own that are on the list.

Thing is, I might rarely play them, but when I do , memories flood back and its a warm cuddly feeling and I know in that moment , I could never get rid of those albums.

Im happy with my poor musical taste:) :) :)
