Went to see this on Friday and to be honest I was really dissapointed.... I thought it would be a really good film - great cast - and on the whole the reviews were not raving but said it was good.

I won't go into the plot - but I'd be interested to hear about what other people think, I think it could have been a great film but instead of concerntrating on 2 - 3 main characters (Depp, Dafoe and Banderas) it seemed that he couldn't be too bothered to go into the characters so just introduce another character instead..

Some of the action scenes were great typical Rodriguez - but too me it seemed that he couldn't be bothered to really go into the film just that he had some money and time and wanted to put some sequences together with a story and decided on the type of shootouts etc and put a story around it...

The most frustrating thing is that it could have been a really good film - but just made you lose interest by bringing in so many different characters....

    :(

I was dissapointed but I feel better now I've got it off my chest

Any one else seen it and what did you think or was it just me????

It looks a bit cheesy to be honest with you.

At last....I thought it was me? I heard such good things about the film, some of my mates were saying I should catch it etc...

Anyway I went along and just ended up coming out disappointed...I have to be honest, I couldn't really put my finger on it...but like you said baldbird, the characters were brought in and shot before you even got to like them...everything about the film felt rushed to me??

The director has done two of my fav films, Dusk till Dawn and Desparado...but in this, its as if he got a great idea but got bored during the shooting and couldn't be ar$*d to finish it off...just a bad film - oh well roll on Kill Bill...now Rodriguez needs to watch Tarantino "The Master" how to do it (famous last words, Kill Bill will probably be pap too!)

I wasn't that impressed with it either. Could have been much better.

Also, towards the end, I could actually see Depp's eyes through the sunglasses!!

    Anyone else notice this?

the fact that Banderas was only available for 2 weeks so they began shooting straight away without a script is almost no surprise. The film's a mess.
I thought it was highly underwhelming and had no idea where it wanted to go.
In short, a load of balony.

Well I rather enjoyed it. I agree that it could've been much better though.

But it was better than I thought it would be.

I saw it last week, thought it was a load of plop !!!!

A sprawling mess with no control and no coherency !!

What the hell was that with Mickey Rourke & the mini-dog that he kept hiding in his jacket every other scene, and Depps false arms that just appeared from nowhere in the taxi !!?? El Mariachi & Desperado were cool, this sucked almost as much as Wild Wild West !!!!!
