Onboard graphics or not

    looking to build an HTPC capable of HD playback.

    Are there motherboards with onboard graphics able to do this or should I be going the seperates route?

    MSI also do a board with the ATI 200 chipset which has on-board graphics (similar to X300 cards)

    Must be fairly reasonable as Hush Tech use them with their lower end MCE systems.

    if you want to be dissapointed go for onboard gfx

    if you wanna be wow'ed go for a nvidia gpu like the 6200 or 6600

    The Nvidia 6150 Integrated chipset is a 6200 based graphics chip. ASUS even have one with DVI on the back panel, the ASUS A8N-VM CSM. We expect to have the Gigabyte version, the GA-K8N51PVMT-9, in stock in 2 or 3 weeks. Most manufacturers will have one of these boards but not all are the same so be careful. Only issue at present is they are all only microATX

    We have been building Media Centers with onboard video for over a year now and even the 9100IGP version are still capable of displaying 720p with a 2800 processor.

    If your l;ooking for an Intel board get one with the 945G chipset, as it has the onboard Intel media Accelerator 950 chip, which is more than capable for your needs...
