Hi,

Does anybody have any experience of the onboard decoding of the Denon 3800, Pio LX91 or Sony 5000ES?

I have av receiver which doesn't decode bitstream HD audio, but does accept LPCM, so would be really interested in the audio quality of the mentioned players and how they compare to a receiver which can accept bitstream HD audio.

Hi. :)
Would this be using the analogues or decoding over HDMI?
All the best.

Thanks for that :smashin:

Does anybody know which one will sound the best out of the three mentioned?

Can only vouch for the Pioneer/Sony and there's nothing really for me to favour one or the other to be honest mate......can't see how the Denon could be any different with decoding over HDMI either.
