I`m thinking of buying a new computer from OverclockersUK and the only option for sound is the on-board sound (on theMotherboard).

Is it possible to disable the onboard sound as I want to install a soundblaster card.? If so, how?

Does having on-board sound tie up a lot of resources/slow it down at all?

    Thanks.

It can be done through the BIOS, usually listed in the I/O devices section.
