    Hi there guys
Basicly my laptops just broke and iam looking for a new pc
now i want a that will play medium- high games
i want a realtivle fast pc
Now the only problem is i only have £260 and need a moniter aswell!

I obviously wont be able to buy new but i dont mind that
in my eyes i really have two options
    1. spend ages on ebay looking looking for a cheap used rig
    2. pay someone to build me one (or pay a computing local shop)
I really dont know what to do because iam on such a small budget
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

At that budget you are really tight to get anything semi decent, even used. One thing worth considering is selling your dead laptop on fleabay as it's surprising how much they go for even when dead.

Sorry mate, £260 won't even cut it for a rig that'll run games on medium settings. You're going to have to up your budget by a fair bit, the GPU alone will use half that budget if not more.

If you check Jambos signature, you will be lucky to find one component that costs under 500 quid!!

A budget of 260 would get you a HDMI cable maybe :p

If he was ok at building (said he not tho) then could build ok for £300 if all 2nd hand (christ minus monitor, sound and ssd's could mayb build mine for that all 2nd hand nowadys). Not always easy finding all parts that way and if need monitor too then it's too low a budget.

You be better of just saving a little for the £500ish and getting better when you can.:) Be worth it it the end, please dont go buying anything with a 5450 :nono: And avoid ebay prebuilt dodgy looking adds.

remember there is no point getting a good graphics withough good cpu or memory because the cpu will bottleneck your gpu.

For £260 you will struggle, the cheapest machine i done for someone was around £380 to £400 a few years back and that had a gt 9400 in it and a cheap amd x2 and it played batman arkham asylum real well .

If you have money issues maybe a little credit with a nice 0% apr and stretch that budget to £500, you can pay half of it off instantly and you have 12 months to save up. However i would suggest this if you can afford to do it.

Also building your own computer is nice and alot easier to do than how it used to be as nowadays you just need to jump into bios and default settings will boot your computer up and then a little web surf will help you get the best bios settings to suit you .

Just remember when you do your own build you will need and OS if you aint got one as its not like just buying a computer and os is installed.

    im going to be blunt.

Wait until you have more money before you buy anything. For what you want to do, you need twice as much cash.

:rotfl: Jesus ****ing Christ mate. I had a computer like that back in the early 2000s (if not earlier). Are you actually kidding us here?

You WILL NOT get a computer that can play any modern games for £200. Do not throw your money away.

Spend at least 3x that much, and yeah, you'll have a cracking computer.

My recommendation to you, if you're so desperate to get a new computer, goto a casino with your £200, bet on black, and see what happens.

On one hand, you could double your money, you could build a basic £400 computer and on the other, you'll be left with nothing - Which is exactly what you would be if you bought that damn thing.

    EDIT:
My Galaxy SIII has more computing power than that rig.

If he really paid that they saw him coming. What a prat.

A mobile phone has more power these days.

    +1

It is really worth saving the cash, spending out on something with less power will only lead to disappointment when it fails to play even solitaire.

For that budget you would get better results with one of the consoles. Listen to everything people have been saying, seriously.
