Who considers 1080p/24fps capability (even if native resolution of the panel is NOT true 1920x1080) of more importance than true 1080 resolution but WITHOUT 24fps capability for DVD playback? . . .some of you probably guess I'm thinking 7th generation Pioneer Vs imminent 10th generation Panasonic panels . . . .Then again before end of 2007 we'll have Pioneer generation 8 with true 1080p/24fps and 3xHdmi 1.3 and a £££artridge in a pear t£ee!!!:suicide:

You've lost the plot, haven't you? :D
It's 8G from Pioneer in the next couple of months time.
Panny's 10G can't hack 24fps, only the 7G Pio's can, but rather than native 24fps, they increase line scanning to 75Hz to smooth the playback.
With the 8G panels, I think I'm right in saying they do 24fps at that speed, which is where the big deal comes into play.
It'll be interesting to see if the PF10 from Panny employs similar tactics, or whether they leave that for PF11.
