Yep, 7 months ago I first placed my order for Paradigm's Studio fronts and centre, today I picked them up

But just as I thought everything was going swimmingly the speaker stands I bought to go with the speakers were missing screws and spikes so I have to wait for Apollo to send them out tomorrow :suicide:

I've temorarily placed the speakers on the rickety stands as I just had to burn them in untill the bits arrive, allready I've been impressed with the increased clarity from my previous Paradigm reference speakers. I can't wait to test these out with some reference material :smashin:

Btw the speakers in question are the :

    Paradigm Studio 40 front pair

    Paradigm Studio CC (centre)

I should be very interested in your reports on these in due course. What speakers would you pitch them at?
May i ask the total cost inc. getting them to your house? (sorry to be so rude but speakers and amps are my thing?)

Don't shoot the messenger but I saw an American review that said the Studio 40s were to be considered as replacements for B&W Nautilus, the review is on Paradigm's site. I can't link to the review as they are in PDF format.

The centre uses the same midrange and tweeter units as the Studio 40s so the timbre should be a good match.

    Prices

    Studio CC - £299

    Studio 40s - £599 (for a real wood finish they cost £899)

RS mail order no longer exists so collection from a store is the only way of getting them (RS Internet doesn't sell them I was told)

I'll take some pics later for you and anyone else who's interested.

    Regards
    Phil

Very nice i am sure, quite large for standmounters.
What are you driving them with?
Are they seious loads/sensitivity, do you know where the drivers are from, will you look at the crossover?

Paradigm make everything themselves. That includes crossovers, drivers cabinets and, in the case of the active Studio40's, the amps, too. This is probably why the performance of Paradigm kit is somewhat higher than the price would lead you to believe? I used to have the Esprit reference fronts, and they were certainly a lot better than the £250 I paid (about the same quality as Mission 783, or B&W CDM7NT). My god, the bass response they had!

I would be interested to hear what the centre speaker is like? I had the monitor centre on dem a while back and good though it was, it wasn't up there with the Esprits

Specs for the Studio 40s and Studio CC are here

I'm driving the speakers with the Rotal RMB-1075 power amp (5 x 120, THX Ultra), processing is handled by the Marantz AV9000. The Xover is set to THX 80Hz and I have no plans to change this, I had the Esprit speakers russraff mentioned which were flat to 40Hz but the 80Hz Xover worked well with them, due in part to a good sub though probably.

Some lovely neoprene sticky back pads came with the Studio 40s so I stuck them on top of the TV and sat the centre on them, being Neoprene the centre is a more rooted than before. I have no pets in the house and kids rarely come in the viewing room so there is little chance of it being knocked.........................touch keyboard.

Incidently RS gave a 5 year warranty on both aquisitions for £40 extra, well worth it IMO.

"here is a pic of the left right speaker, here is a pic of the back of the right speaker........."
