    Happy new year everybody .

My 55b6 developed some screen burn after 2 years even though I was very careful with settings and usage.

Richer sounds were very good under warranty and pretty much exchanged it for me for a 55 b8.

    However.

I think this TV is not as good as it should be.

I have Only had it since Saturday, but it disnt seem as bright as my last one. There is also a slight green tint on both sides , and there is a fair bit of banding.

The banding seems to have gotten worse since initial first tests

Returning to richer sounds is not impossible but a lot of agro as my nearest one is in Romford and I am in wickford.

I was wondering to wait and register the guaranty with LG and then call them directly to check it out .

    What does everyone think.?

Do you have any idea how many hrs the TV run so far & how many compensation cycles it has done.

    Really?

I know i could end up getting a worse one, but my b6 before it went back didnt really have any banding. It was 2 years old though.

Does the banding really settle down after a while?

Just be grateful that they exchanged it for you with a new tv. Keep it and just enjoy it before it develop a new burn-in on your telly. Because that's OLED.

Banding does settle down, but it takes time. No guarantee yours will of course.
If I were you I would ring Richer Sounds to log the issue, tell them you may have a problem, but want to give it another week or two to see if it shows signs of improvement. I wouldn’t involve LG at this stage, unless Richer Sounds aren’t helpful.
During that week or two use it as much as possible and put it in standby for 10 minutes every 4 hours (as far as practical) to run the maximum number of compensation cycles. Don’t run the manual cycles, just let the automatic ones do their job. Study the screen after each cycle. If the bands are noticeably changing it is still settling down.

I have emailed richer sounds about a small receipt problem , I have sent them the picture and am awaiting a reply.

If i do just keep it, will the banding affect a pro calibration if i have one done ?

How were richer sounds with the warranty on the screen burn? I've heard mixed things, most suggesting that the warranty doesn't cover it

    Very very good,

I was offered a Samsung LCD valued at £999 but explained that the LCD wasn't good for me due to the viewing angles that are needed in my living room.

So bearing in mind the TV was nearly 2 years old, they said i could have £1000 credit toward a new TV as a repair was uneconomical. My guess is they will send my old TV back to LG as get some credit back for it. Apart from some screen burn that you could see on anything red and magenta it was still pretty good.

I was really care full with this set as well which i think helped convince them that it wasn't really my fault.

The warranty does not cover this issue however. I think they deal with it on a case by case basis.

I had emailed their chief operations officer who often reply's to things on trust piolet so that may have also helped.

How much did the original TV cost

I'd had a Samsung LCD from Costco , paid £1680 for it in June 2016 , it was fine 90% of the time but didn't like brown or grey backgrounds , the banding was really bad , purchase of a 4K Xbox really showed it up so on the strength on 2 pictures they wrote it off

I took it back and they refunded £1680 , I put £1000 to it and bought a LG E8 65"

Given the problems I've read about Oled TVs Costco is the only place I'd ever buy one from

    15!

Not sure if I could go through that many.

Sending it back is agrivation though.

Have to rope my dad in to help get it of the wall and use his car to transport it there.

I not sure they would even change it, whic is why I thought the LG route might be best.

Give it a week then call them saying I have noticed the issue.

I have read some people have had lg come to the house and change the actual screen.

Problem is, I Could end up with another bad one.
Is it possible that the darker grey spots are making the overall picture seem dimmer than it should be?

Maybe, the main thing is can you see any issues in normal viewing? %'s are a guide only but we don't watch slides in reality

Not really. Maybe shows up in really really dark scenes. I noticed it playing seem read dead redemption 2 Tuesday night. but it wasn't overly distracting.

I think the problem is i am looking for faults.

So far , compared to my previous oled.

    The screen seems dimmer.
The off access viewing seem to have a green tint.
They grey screen unifomatiy isn't great.

Now bear in mind my previous set was calibrated, but also i have 3 other lcds in the house which i cant help but compare the picture with!

I dont think i ever ran 5% grey slides on my b6 so that may well have had similar issues ! LOL

    ok so ,

Having trouble getting hold of Richer Sounds to talk them about this now. Cant seem to get through on the phone and no one is answering emails. I have also emailed customer services (the same person i spoke to before), but have not had an answer back.

I have now emailed LG (yesterday) and am awaiting a response.

I am really not happy with the quality of the panel but due to the circumstances of the me getting this one as a replacement for a two yer old panel, i think this is going to be a problem to change it.

Noticed terrible moving blocks in dark ,near black scenes ,watching sky q last night as well.

Keep pushing RS, the right hand side isn't going to get any better. If they're being a real pain LG may help. My E7 had a dark side like that and LG did a panel swap.

Noob question, so now do you have to break in an OLED or risk ruining it?

Can you try a reset to factory settings. This may not help but will not do any harm. Also it is likely to be one of things LG would tell you to do and you could then tell them you have already tried that. Like when you contact a company's computer "no-help" desk: "have you tried switching it off and on again?" "No - I would never have thought of doing that" - followed by rude noise.

Above Images of rambo 3 on hdr.
Was trying to ignore the problem, but when you see it in content ...

Wish I had kept my other panel now...

I have been emailing richer sounds who said they would contact LG.

They are a little concerned about changing the TV in case I get one with similar issues.

I absolutely do not have any issues with richer sounds. They have been great. However the whole situation is very vety frustrating.

I have requested help from LG via their ask for a repair online service. They are supposed to get back to me within 24hours but after 2 days I have not heard anything ..

Complete nonsense. There are countless OLED owners who've racked up many thousands of hours over 2 or 3 years and see no such issue. I'm not saying burn in doesn't happen, but it's rare and certainly not guaranteed, or even likely in most cases.
