Has anyone any views as to which is going to be the best picture quality in the upcoming choice of 4k and Oled. I have yet to see either but its reported today that Samsung are distributing here a 55" curved screen Oled in July.

Assuming 4K sells , Personally I dont think it will , I think it will go the same way as 3D .... then OLED sets will be 4K native resolution.
Otherwise OLED sets will stay at 1080p.

They are not mutually exclusive technologies.

If your talking about spending now on either technology , I wouldnt.

HDMI 2.0 is imminent , it should arrive before the end of the year , and it is not clear what is in the spec yet and what is not.

With a bandwidth increase to 18gbps or so I wouldn't be at all surprised if you were looking at a physically different HDMI connector , possibly the HDMI dual link type B connector, which has existed in spec for quite a while but so far has been unused.

Buying any of these technologies right now at the prices they are could be a very expensive "early adopters" mistake !!
Definitely wait until the spec is released!
