Hi All. I am looking to buy an LG Oled 55B6V. Currently I have an excellent but 10 tr old AV amp which I don't want to change which has no HDMI inputs, so I currently use a digital co-ax connection to take 5.1 audio from bluray player to amp and an optical out from TV to optical in on amp to take TV and Humax audio to amp. The video is directly from bluray via HDMI to TV.
I know the Oled outputs 5.1 via it's optical out so I'm thinking that I can use this as the audio source for the blueray player, TV and humax box and disregard the co-ax connection between the bluray player and am to provide full 5.1 when playing films (my present TV onlu outputs 2.1 via optical out). Does anyone see a problem with this and would 5.1 audio outputed from TV be as good (not degredated) compared to a direct audio connection between bluray and amp, particularly as I will be looking to buy a UHD 4K bluray player.
thanks to all for considering my question and responding
