i think you will struggle to be fair as they would have more than likely sold them off on the run up to xmas if they had any stock left as the slim ones were like rocking horse dung.
id take a look on ebay for someone selling a new one that they dont want or something like that, as i think shops may have been told to stop selling the older ones too.

the older ones are, V7 and on are pretty new and depending on if theyve been hammered or used in dusty, smoky homes then it all depends onhow they last.
but the new slim ones suffer from over heating problems apparently, aftre 3hrs plus play time.

Don't knock the original PS2 so fast, mine still rocks and never had any sort of problems with it for a good 3 years! :smashin: Best bet would be to look on Ebay I'd imagine

Someone was flogging one on amazon marketplace, said it was the old style and an unwanted gift, might be worth emailing them so they can check the model number.

Got to agree there, I have had mine since that first release day christmas rush, The mrs spent a lot of money to garanty I got it for that christmas as well bless her.
I have never , ever had a problem with mine for any amount of time, in fact the old girl will take a bashing for at least eight hours in one go on a friday, and the ps2 still works as well

    My PS2 Recommendations:-

    PES4
    GT4
    Gradius V
    Virtua Fighter 4 Evo
    GTA:SA
    ICO

That's a pretty varied (Footie, Driving, Shootem up, Fighter and 2 vastly different 3D action/adventures) selection to go for - all quality games!
