    i have got hold of a tosh sd2109 dvd player, i now have two questions if anybody can help me?

    1) will it still play current region 1 or 3 discs as its an old model?

    2) is it still any good, paid £45 on richer mega day?

    many thanks :blush:

    They're still quite a good performer: I still have my old 3109 hooked-up to the TV in the lounge.
    Need to be 'chipped' to make them MR (The mod is the same for 2109/3109).

    Just seen that you said it is 'multi'. The only thing it may have a problem with is RCE discs. There is usually a handset hack to get around even this though - There is for mine; the only time I've had to use it was the play R1 Spiderman though.

    RCE = Regional Coding Enhancement.
    Just another tactic by dvd manufacturers to fool multi-region players into not playing discs. I believe it's only ever applied to R1 titles.

    Try a forum search on 'RCE' - should be loads of stuff.
    I'm sure someone even posted a list of known RCE titles.
