Hi all,

I want to add a center speaker to my system as we watch a lot of netflix lately and the "speech" is too quiet. I have now a mini dsp 10x10, two front speakers and 3 subwoofers (2 stereo and 1 bigger for lfe).

I will keep the minidsp but just add a preamp to decode the surround.

I can get a very good deal on an older qualit Linn pre amp, but it only supports DTS, Dolby Pro Logic II, SACD 5.1 formats. It's only 150 euro, a steal!

I will only have a 3.3 setup (more a 3.1 as 2 subs are linked to the fronts and will probably also do a crissover at 60 for my center) so not sure if I need "atmos" and others.

But I want to know if this old receiver will work with netflix, disney, ... streamers or do I need a modern pre amp which has atmos, dd+, ...?

No you don't need Atmos, a good old legacy AV ore will do a great job decoding DD/DTS
