My dad has recently moved into a house with a satellite dish but no decoder.

I do not know the dish type at this point, but was wondering if any decoder box can be attached and if so, will he be able to view any free programs?

    Thanks

You would need a satellite receiver and a suitable LNB on the dish (which must of course be aligned on the appropriate satellite).

If you are interested in receiving Sky Digital and free English programmes you can read all the relevant information HERE.
