does that mean it won't display @ 48hz or 72hz when feed 1080p/24 through component.

(i know this is all rather pointless on my low rez display, but I just want to watch a few rented films in HD-DVD (rather than SD) with smooth playback until I get a new panel or PJ next year)

i dont know but an educated guess would say no it doesnt do that properly.
