old digibox with Sky+

    if I have Sky+ installed and move my old digibox upstairs but not have the mirror subs option activated would I still have any reception in the upstairs box?

    Yes you will get all the FTA channels.
    You will need to get a FTV smartcard (no longer available from the BBC) if you want to watch ITV1, CH4 and Five on the box. Some people have managed to get standalone channels to issue a new smartcard for a small registration fee however my money is still on the FTV system being put back in place sooner rather than later. The only other option is to get a subscription for this box either the mirror sub (£10 a month) or a normal sub starting from £12.50.

    have you still got the card for your normal sky box as that should still let you see the ftv programs. (will it does on my box anyway)

    i think you should get a new card for the sky plus box, we did but that might be diffrent now.

    not had sky+ installed yet wandgrudd. I've already got TIVO and am considering the options of whether to have Sky+ or to continue with the TIVO.

    i didn't get a new sky card when i had my sky + installed
