old crt on the blink.. should i but a tosh 32WLT66 from currys?

My sony 28inch crt is finally on the blink (it keeps switching off - although can stay on a few hours). I am considering a cheap HD LCD and the toshiba 32WLT66 seems to be a nice screen ( I am not worried about the pc connectivity which seems to be the negative factor).
I am considering buying from currys at £639 to collect? A couple of questions:-

1) What is the picture like when not looking straight onto the screen? My tv is in the corner of the room so the tv tends to be viewed at a 30-45 degree angle from centre. Will I have any problems with the colours fading etc / backlight problems?

2) Is it dodgy getting the tv from currys? Because I aim to collect I will be buying 'in store' i wont be able to change my mind. There are a couple of threads anbout how rubbish currys are but the local independants are quoting £799 fro the same tv?

3) Should I wait until after xmas (and hope the sony lasts!)?

Any help is really appreciated!
