I am looking to buy an old Apple Universal Dock Model A1153 (as opposed to the new one). Does anyone know what iPod models is it compatible with and also if it is compatible with iPhone 3G? If it is compatible with iPhone 3G does it simply charge it or does it output music as well? I did some research on the net but the few threads i found do not make this clear.

I got one of these quite cheap off e bay to hook up to my sound system in the conservatory

I can confirm that the iPod Classic, iPod Touch and iPhone 3GS (in airplane mode) all work fine :smashin:

I cant recall if the remote works on the iPhone but it deffo does on the Classic

By the way, i have an Apple remote that came with my iMac. Can I assign this remote to the dock instead? Anyone know how? I quite like to get one of the new remotes to use with my iMac instead.
