    Hello,

I am just about to buy a silver Sony DVP-NS900 from the internet and wondered where you guys had bought your players from.

I want to have it "modded" to play all regions, have macrovision off, be auto and manual region switching (although if not auto-switching then it's not too much of a problem I guess), play RCE disks etc.

If I could get your experiences (both good AND bad) about various internet retailers and any website addresses I would be very grateful.

    Thanks,

    Matthew

    Dazzzling,

Do the players from dvdplayers.co.uk play rce disks and is the macrovision switched off?

Interesting to see the silver players are over £50 more... wonder why that is?

    Cheers

Because demand is higher for the silver version probably. I bought my player from Techtronics and had no problems.

I bought my player from Techtronics too and had no problems in them delivering it quickly (within 5 working days). It works perfectly with all regions and all RCE titles that I've tried so far. Macrovision is turned off and I can also skip through the FBI warning screens :D

But I didn't like the way the aftersales guy spoke to me when I rang them up to ask for a bit of clarification on their instructions  I wouldn't fancy having to speak to him again if the player ever went wrong :(

To be honest, I can't wait for the year's warranty to expire... then it will be covered by my credit card's extended warranty ;)

    Hi Matthew,

    RCE yes, Macro No.

I have noticed other sites with different prices for silver & black.

I ordered my Sony DVP-NS900 2 weeks ago. Ordered at 14.30 and it had been delivered before 9am the next day. I asked about RCE and was told it would play them.
Dunno about macrovision, though i would assume that it would be disabled if made multi-region.
bloody good unit the Sony is too.
