I have read with interest and some dismay about the Sony V series in some magazines(this was to be my choice for a 32" LCD).

I have just seen a V40 via HDMI from Denon 2910...picture was really impressive.

However..I have yet to see a convincing Freeview picture at any retailer..
on either the Sony or Panasonic.

My Sony 28DX200 produces a reasonable pictiure on freeview and a superb picture on SKY movies and also on DVD.

So what should I do.....I have a DVD player (denon 2910) with HDMI and prog scan.....my current TV does not support either.....
Do I wait for the next gen LCD or even SED.

Or do I take the plunge and go for the Sony

I think you know the answer to that really....if you can live with a less than great freeview then go for it, otherwise wait.

There's no guarantee the next gen of LCD or even SED will transform the freeview picture. Until they turn off analogue and subsequently turn the bit rates up, all fixed pixel displays will probably show up the inherently low quality of these pictures.
