Hi. Having carefully soldered off 3 fat gold RCAs on one end of my component cable (3 x Belden 1694A), I've discovered that they touch each other when plugged into my projector or DVD player.

I've put a multi-meter across the outer contacts of the 3 projector sockets (and DVD ones) and they appear all commoned, so I'm guessing it won't be a problem, but wanted to make sure.

So, is it ok as it is, or should I buy a set of narrower RCAs and redo them?

    Cheers, Niall.

It's fine. They are connected together (GND) in most equipment as you have confirmed.
