    Hi all

Ok its getting near time to sort my lounge for the new tv and i am now looking into cables :)

This is what i will have!

    Panasonic px60 plasma (soon :) )

    TOSHIBA RD-XS345R HDD DVD RECORDER

    yamaha 757 amp (soon :) )

    skybox

    games machine x box 360!!

    laptop

Then its looking like some monitor audio bronze speakers with a rel sub!

Can anyone help with which cables i should buy, inc which speaker cable will be for speakers etc as i suppose i need larger dia cable for the front than the rear speakers?

I will be using the amp as a hub for the video as well as sound :)

I would also like sound to the plasma so i can watch sky and dvd without the amp and full speakers if need be :)

    shane

I have been looking at speaker cable and is qed micro ok for a set or MA b1s for the rear?

And also is it small enough to lay flat under a laminate floor if i say remove a slice of the underlay (just the normal thin stuff on a roll not the thick board stuf) and not be able to know they are there?

You need to give people an idea of the following before anyone will be able to help:

    • What type of signals your pieces of equipment output - RGB, component, s-video, etc.
    • How many sockets there are.
    • What type of sockets there are.

if you have Sky+ use S-video other wise you can route sky Via DVDR to get live pause etc and video conversion.

You seem to have alot of QED cables, any particlar reason?

I only have normal sky box nothing flash so don't want to spend too much on that cable if poss.

So if i plug from sky to dvdr box with a scart lead will i always have to have the dvdr on to watch sky?

I just thought the qed stuff looked good for the money?

    And thing i should change?

I also went for a demo today of the MA bronze with a rel quake sub and the yam 757 and all the leads used were qed and i liked the sound so thought i would go for them????

    2 things why HDMI??????
and for sky to DVD-R no not always on as long as DVD-R does RGB passthrough in standby and is connect via RGB scart to display (QED is not a way of saving on cabling)

Any reason why not Hdmi is this not the best for the player??

So would i just need a rgb scart for the sky to the dvd-r and then the dvd-r will be connected to the amp with a component video lead then a component video to the screen or will this have to be different to this?

The cable is part of a package which has been put together for me so can't change it too much now but is it good cabling?

    Thanks shane

component is just as good as a hdmi cable in quality, and hdmi has copyrighting so it makes it harder for recording.
