My Screen is in place (thanks Kramer, it's a perfect fit)
My DVI cable has been threaded through the innards of the house
My PC has been tested to output 1368*768
My HS10 arrives today ($2720 [£1800 including VAT and delivery] from Pricejapan)
And what did I find last night at 10.00 o clock when I got home from work:
MY WIFE HAD PAINTED THE LIVING ROOM CREAM :nono:
Well so much for black levels now
The place is like a bloddy operating theatre. I need sunglasses even with the lights off.

    What am I to do:suicide:

When you get the chance : ie when your missus is away from the house, paint it a slightly darker shade of cream.

Repeat as necessary with progressively darker colours until you've got a nice dark colour.

You will however have to reassure your wife that she is neither going bonkers nor losing her eyesight when she finally begins to notice. ( changing the lightbulbs for lower wattage ones may also help disguise this process).

I estimate this process should take about 3 years dependant on opportunity.

In all seriousness, why not bring home a dulex catalogue or home magazine and casually flick through it...find some nice dark colours (maybe a deep red) and ask which she thinks are nicer (be subtle...tell her you were just wondering). Then...

BAM! Paint it that colour next time she's out

she at least shouldn't be too ******ed about the colour, at least, not any more ******sed than you're entitled to be right now!

Just tell her that the light being reflected of the walls from the projector seem to make her wrinkles stand out more.....especially around her eyes....
If you use this method be sure to stand well back when you tell her...........:zonked:
Then be sure all your DVD's are in their covers, or they will have flat black paint spatters on them the next time you come home!!
But your Black levels will have improved. :smashin:

    Good Luck

    Comer,

    That's a bummer. I'd wait 'til she's out shopping/whatever and paint the room a nice flat mid blue/neutral gray/dark red/anything but cream !!

However, here's a cautionary tale about projection and WAF from one of our CRT brethern - hilarious, but true !

BTW, the sunglasses might help with your black levels - have you made a new discovery ?

    All the best,

    Sean G.
